Basic Info
Setup: Link Nintendo Switch
Setup is required on both Pokémon GO and Scarlet/Violet. After registering once, you only need to send postcards from then on.
Scarlet/Violet setup (one-time)
Unlock the Pokémon Portal
About 1 hour into the story, the Pokémon Portal unlocks on your first visit to a Pokémon Center.
X menu → Poké Portal → Mystery Gift
During play, press X → Poké Portal (4th menu) → select Mystery Gift.
Select 'Connect to Pokémon GO'
From Mystery Gift, choose 'Connect to Pokémon GO' to enter pairing mode.
Pokémon GO setup (one-time)
Connect Switch in Pokémon GO
Pokémon GO Settings → 'Connected Devices & Services' → Nintendo Switch, then link accounts.
Confirm on both sides
When your Trainer name appears on Switch, select 'Yes'. Registration complete!
Daily routine: sending postcards
Wait on Switch
In Scarlet/Violet: X → Poké Portal → Mystery Gift → 'Connect with Pokémon GO'.
Send postcard from Pokémon GO
Gift → Postcard Book → select a postcard → tap 'Send to Nintendo Switch'.
Once per day (resets at midnight)
Sending postcards earns two items: a Precious Chest (daily) + Golden Lure Module (every 5 sends).
Precious Chest — farm Gimmighoul
A special incense earned daily by sending postcards. When used, Roaming Gimmighoul appear around you for 30 minutes.

Walking while using it spawns many more Gimmighoul. Idle mode gives only 1 per 5 minutes.
Silver Pinap Berries double candy on catch. Gholdengo also needs candy, so stock up.
Golden Lure Module — farm coins
A special Lure earned every 5 postcards. When used on a PokéStop, it becomes a Golden PokéStop for 30 minutes, dropping coins.

Spinning a Golden PokéStop drops coins plus extra items.
Catching Gimmighoul near a Golden PokéStop also earns additional coins.
Coin farming tips
999 coins are needed to evolve into Gholdengo. Consistent daily postcards are the key.
Send a postcard every day without fail. You earn both the daily Precious Chest and the Golden Lure Module (every 5 days).
You can only hold 1 Golden Lure Module at a time. Use it right away to keep earning.
Candy and coins are separate. Buddy walking gets candy, but coins come from catches / Golden PokéStops.
Check your current coin count on the Gimmighoul detail screen.
