Super Mega Raid Guide

What is a Super Mega Raid?

A new type of Mega Raid where Trainers band together to take down an exceptionally powerful Mega-Evolved boss. During the fight the boss becomes enraged and raises shields that only Mega-Evolved Pokémon can break.

Key: shield count = Mega Trainers needed

The number on the shield at the top-left is the boss’s shield count. Each Trainer can break exactly one shield with their Mega. So you need as many Trainers who Mega Evolve as there are shields. The example below has 10 shields, so at least 10 people must Mega Evolve to clear it.

Battle flow (enter → break shields)

Using a real Mega Mewtwo Super Mega Raid, here is the order from entry to breaking every shield.

Pick party & get ready

Pick party & get ready

Once inside, participants choose their battle Pokémon. If you Mega Evolve before entering, that Mega is placed automatically in the 6th party slot.

Check Mega count — switch rooms if low

Check Mega count — switch rooms if low

The "number of Mega-Evolved Pokémon" (e.g. 19) should exceed the shield count. If it’s lower than the shield count, a clear is unlikely — join a different room.

Enrage → Mega appears

Enrage → Mega appears

After you chip away enough HP, the boss enrages, the prompt "Time to send out your Mega-Evolved Pokémon!" appears, and if you have a Pokémon that can Mega Evolve, it Mega Evolves automatically.

Break shields with your Mega’s Charged Attack

Break shields with your Mega’s Charged Attack

Shields can only be broken by a Mega’s Charged Attack. Everyone breaks one each — if you faint first, heal in the waiting room and rejoin to break yours.

Check the shield status

Check the shield status

The number shown with the shield above the boss’s HP bar is how many shields remain (e.g. 1). Use it to track how many more you need to break in real time.

"All shields broken!"

"All shields broken!"

Once Trainers break every shield, "All shields broken!" appears, the boss calms down, and normal damage lands on it again.

Key tips

You need as many Trainers who Mega Evolve as the shield count. If Megas are fewer than the shield number, switch rooms.

Remote play needs both a Remote Raid Pass and Link Charges — stock up Link Charges via shop coins or Weekly Challenges. (In person, a Raid Pass alone is enough.)

Breaking a shield needs a Mega-Evolved Pokémon — it’s not required to enter, and you can Mega Evolve during the battle.

During the shield phase, don’t just deal damage — break shields with your Mega’s Charged Attack.

If you faint before breaking your shield, heal in the waiting room and come back to break it.
