Pick a Pokémon's type (1–2). The 18 attack types get grouped by damage multiplier.
Why GO multipliers differ from mainline
Mainline games use ×2 for super-effective, ×0.5 for not very effective, and ×0 for no effect. Pokémon GO uses different values.
| Case | Mainline | Pokémon GO |
|---|---|---|
| Super effective (single) | ×2 | ×1.6 |
| Double weak (dual) | ×4 | ×2.56 |
| Not very effective (single) | ×0.5 | ×0.625 |
| Double resist (dual) | ×0.25 | ×0.39 |
| No effect | ×0 | ×0.39 |
GO has no true immunity. Matchups that deal 0 damage in mainline still deal ×0.39 in GO (e.g., Normal → Ghost, Electric → Ground).
Not-very-effective attacks lose less damage than in mainline, and super-effective attacks gain less damage than in mainline. Hitting weaknesses is still the right play.
Weather Boosts
Matching weather boosts move power by ×1.2. Wild and raid Pokémon of that type also spawn at +5 levels.
