Friendship Levels & Bonuses Guide

Friendship Level is the bond you build by playing with another Trainer. Higher levels grant more raid Premier Balls, a battle attack boost, and trade Stardust discounts — and reaching the top tier, Forever Friends, unlocks distance-free Remote Trades.

The Friendship Ladder

After adding a friend you start at "Friend" and climb five tiers by earning Friendship Points together. You earn up to one point per day, so the point total is also the minimum number of days (e.g. 90 days for Best). Exact per-tier numbers are in the tables below.

Earning Friendship Points

Friendship Points are the new system that tracks your progress to the next level. You earn them two ways.

Daily interaction

Battling, trading, opening a Gift, and other interactions earn up to 1 point per day.

Weekly Challenge

Take on a weekly group challenge with up to three friends, wherever they are. Completing it grants up to 7 extra Friendship Points (plus XP) per friend in the group — combined with the daily point, up to 8 in a single day.

Lucky Friends & Lucky Pokémon

Once you’re Best Friends, your first interaction each day has a chance to make you Lucky Friends. Your next trade then turns both Pokémon into Lucky Pokémon, after which the status clears.

Guaranteed 12/12/12 IVs

Lucky Pokémon are guaranteed minimum IVs of 12 in Attack, Defense, and HP.

Half power-up Stardust

Powering up a Lucky Pokémon costs half the usual Stardust, making it far cheaper to invest in.

The exact chance of becoming Lucky Friends is not officially published.
