Bulk Transfer & Storage Cleanup Guide
How to bulk-transfer Legendary/Mythical Pokémon and empty your storage fast and safely.
When your Pokémon storage fills up you can't catch more, and farming candy means transferring excess Pokémon to the Professor. But Legendary and Mythical Pokémon can only be sent one at a time by default, which makes cleanup tedious. One setting speeds this up dramatically.
Why cleanup matters
Repeatedly catching the same Pokémon — Meltan (repeating Mystery Boxes) or Legendary raids — fills your storage fast. Like Melmetal needing 400 candy to evolve, transferring extras to the Professor for candy is the core loop.
The "Expanded Group Transfer" setting
With this on, Legendary and Mythical Pokémon can be selected and transferred in bulk just like regular ones. With it off, they go one at a time.
STEP 1 · Open Settings
Main screen → Poké Ball → Settings (gear icon, top right).
STEP 2 · Enable "Expanded Group Transfer"
Go to Settings → General and turn on this option. It's what lets you select multiple Legendary/Mythical Pokémon in storage.
STEP 3 · Multi-select in storage → Transfer
In your Pokémon storage, long-press to select multiple Pokémon — Legendary and Mythical can now be included and sent together.
What this unlocks: Mass-clean excess Meltan, clear out Legendaries piled up after raids, and quickly empty storage when it's full. No more sending Meltan one by one.
Before you transfer
Favorite keepers firstFavorited Pokémon are excluded from bulk transfer. Lock your 100% IVs, shinies, and prized Meltan with a star before enabling this to prevent accidents.
Transfers are permanentPokémon sent to the Professor are gone forever (you only keep the candy). Double-check the screen before confirming a bulk transfer.
Save it for Double Transfer CandyTransferring during a Double Transfer Candy bonus gives twice the candy for the same Pokémon. Stockpile extras and clean up during the event.
Filter out keepers with search
Typing a search string in your storage box surfaces the Pokémon you want to keep first, reducing mistakes during bulk selection.
| Search string | What it filters |
|---|---|
4* | 4-star (100%) — keepers, to verify you don't transfer them |
!favorite | Shows only non-favorited Pokémon |
Don't judge transfers by appraisal stars alone — a low-attack-IV Pokémon can actually be stronger in Great League (PvP).
